SUPPORT THE LAUNCH OF A NEW K-12 AMERICAN CLASSICAL SCHOOL IN KUNA

Valor Classical Academy is a tuition-free, K-12 American classical public school opening in Kuna, Idaho, in 2026. VCA is a 501(c)(3) organization, an American Classical School of Idaho member school, and Hillsdale-supported founding effort. VCA’s mission is to train the minds and improve the hearts of students through a classical, content-rich curriculum that emphasizes virtuous living, traditional learning, and civic responsibility. VCA’s vision is to form future citizens who uphold the ideals of our country’s founding and promote the continuation of our American experiment in liberty.

ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN

The Spirit of ’76 is a fundraising campaign to support Valor Classical Academy in providing classical education to Idaho students in Kuna, south Meridian, and SW Boise. The campaign’s name commemorates the year 1776, when the Declaration of Independence was signed, providing a foundation for the American republic we protect and value today. The school plans to open in 2026 on the Semiquincentennial (250th anniversary) of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.  Our Spirit of ’76 Campaign aims to raise $250,000 by July 4th, 2026.

VCA’s vision is to form future citizens who uphold the ideals of our country’s founding and promote the continuation of our American experiment. By supporting VCA and The Spirit of ’76 Campaign, you will help form these future American citizens by supporting an American classical education that emphasizes what is good, beautiful, and true.

SUPPORT VCA TODAY

Your contribution today will support two key initiatives, including our Semiquincentennial Plaza and “The Story of America” Hallway Art Initiative.

Semiquincentennial Plaza

Semiquincentennial Plaza honors 250 years of American sacrifice and citizenship.  The plaza is designed to be both compelling and meaningful, honoring fallen service members while inspiring students and future generations through the dual themes of Virtus (virtue, exemplified by courage and service) and Civitas (citizenship, emphasizing civic duty and liberty).

“The Story of America” Hallway Art Initiative

Our hallway art initiative inspires students through truth, goodness, and beauty. For our youngest learners, prints reflect our six core virtues through classic imagery. As students advance, “The Story of America” showcases iconic moments and figures from American history. In the upper school, “The Best of Humanity” features masterpieces paired with profound quotes from influential thinkers.

WHY VALOR

Classical Curriculum

Valor Classical Academy is dedicated to cultivating knowledgeable and virtuous citizens through a classical education that emphasizes the principles of our nation’s founding. A future American Classical Schools of Idaho (ACSI) member school, Valor Classical Academy will be the first public charter school of its kind in Kuna, with the potential to serve more than 700 students and their families.

Deeply Rooted History

Honoring the courageous American spirit, Valor Classical Academy is named in recognition of Army SPC John Borbonus, who gave his life in Baghdad, Iraq while serving his country in 2007. SPC Borbonus was posthumously awarded the Silver Star — the nation’s third-highest military decoration for valor in combat.

Community Focus

VCA will not only provide a tuition-free, public education to Idaho students, but it will work with the local community to bolster the shared vision of restoring American public education and its values. Involving parents and local leaders in the educational journey of our students is crucial to the success of Valor Classical Academy and all ACSI member schools.
